Osteopathy, also referred to as Osteopathic Therapy, European Osteopathy, or Manual Osteopathy; as it is known and practiced around the world is a form of therapy which is based upon the principle that the physical wellbeing of the individual is dependant upon the smooth functioning of the bones, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues.
The aims of care is to maintain or restore optimal biomechanical function and mobility to the human body through the use of exercise programming, and/or a variety of manual therapy techniques.
As a profession, Osteopathy has been recognized by the British Medical Association as a truly distinct and unique health discipline as it is a field that combines up to date medical knowledge with osteopathic philosophy.
